Winter fashion campaign, photographed by Urko Suaya for Paruolo - an Argentinian shoe brand.
The inspiration for the campaign was born after Urko attended Al Gore's Global Warming conference in Buenos Aires, last year. He thought it was a good way to make a winter ad, and at the same time, to help inform on this alarming issue.
To create the arctic scenery we built a 12 x 12m realistic set. We worked for 2 weeks on the construction, and then took 2 more days to build it up at the studio. The set was all done in sculpted expanded polystyrene and covered with salt, resin and wax. The sky was painted in the cyclorama.
Regarding light, Urko recreated a classic overcast day in the arctic by using a flat and very soft cold daylight.
