Biography

Jimmy Backius was brought up in Dalarna in Sweden. After a few years in University studying typography and singing in a rock band Jimmy moved to Stockholm to begin working as a photographers assistant with one of Sweden’s most established photographers.

With his keen eye for fashion he quickly picked up his skills and after a few years he set up on his own, almost exclusively working with fashion photography. Early on he began working for Swedish and international clients such as H&M, Gant, Lejaby & Nokia whilst expanding his editorial work to include the magazines Elle, Tush, Cover, Above, Bon, Glamour & L'Officiel.

His well developed sense of fashion, constantly current and inventive, and his unique ability to make the models sexy yet attractive makes him the obvious choice when it comes to push fashion photography to its outermost refinement.
